Banding together against sexual harassment in live venues
Brought together by the love of music and the desire to be part of a shared experience, to be part of a live music crowd is to be part of a community.
And like any community, we should be looking after our own.
‘Let’s Band Together’ is a call to arms encouraging live music fans to ‘make some noise’ by calling out any sexually harassing behaviour they encounter to clearly identified, trained and responsive staff members.
With a pilot program including Melbourne’s iconic Corner Hotel and Toff In The Town, the initiative promotes zero tolerance, provides clear warnings, definitions and actions around sexual harassment, and empowers live music venue operators and their staff, musicians and their fans, to ensure that good vibes rule.
